republicans briefed reporters on a vote on the debt ceiling. the house will vote wednesday on a measure that will occur -- extend the debt limit until may 19. included is a provision that if congress fails to pass a budget by april 15, lawmakers salaries will be held in escrow. this is 10 minutes. >> good afternoon. good evening. >> hard-working taxpayers understand that they have to balance their budgets from every week to every month. they also believe it's time for washington to balance its budget. over the last four years, house republicans have offered plans. our budget plans. we have done our budgets, but it's been nearly four years since the senate has done a budget. most americans believe if you don't do your job, you shouldn't get paid, that is the basis for no budget, no pay. it's time for the senate to act. chairman paul ryan has worked hard with the budget committee to outline the kind of reforms we would put in place to bring real fiscal responsibility here in washington. and the american people understand that you can't continue to spend money that you don't have. it's tim

. which makes me start to get a little nervous. let's talk about the debt ceiling extension as well. does this take anything off the table for the market or is the market over watching what's going on in washington? if you look at what happened with the fiscal cliff, how that was solved within 24 hours to go. a lot of traders and investors anticipate a similar situation with the debt ceiling. whether we get this extension of three months or whether overnight some kind of resolution to it is being done it seems like the general consensus is this thing will be fixed and we will be able to move on and look forward past it. there's a blast of winter rushing through the u.s. this week. what will that mean for natural gas prices? we have seen natural gas prices climb aggressively off their lows. we pushed through 350 last week. we also had a draw down in their storage report. we're expecting another draw down going forward. but as far as other similar markets like crude oil and heating oil we've also seen quite a bit of demand for the. crude oil has a little bit more geopolitical tension so you

expecting another battle of the debt ceiling? >> we love the stock market last year. yes, i don't think the battle is going to be as brutal as the last-minute fiscal cliff negotiations. but i do agree that the year will probably start out a little slow because a lot of plans were put on hold in the fourth quarter. but look. so far 70% of the companies that have reported earnings over the last couple of weeks have been above expectations. so that's a good trend. we think gdp will build as we go through the year. and so we continue to like this market. you have to be a little cautious when the dow is with i think 2% of its all-time record high nap is amazing. that is really amazing. >> wow. looks like we got a blowout here on yahoo. let me get you the numbers here. 32 cents a share is where they're reporting the fourth quarter on earnings. revenue also looking better than expected at $1.22 billion in revenue. that compares to an estimate of $1.21 billion. we saw yahoo trading just as the numbers were coming out. 32 cents a share on $1.22 billion. >> maria? >> yes. >> little calling on the
